On Monday, President Donald Trump welcomed the leaders of Ukraine, France, Germany, Italy, Finland, the United Kingdom, NATO, and the European Union to the White House for high-stakes talks on ending Russia’s brutal war with a just and lasting peace. The gathering underscored what has long set America apart: our ability to unite nations in moments of great consequence.
The last great test of freedom came in World War II, when American resolve—joined with the sacrifice of our allies—turned the tide against fascism. Victory was possible only because the United States stepped forward, rallied others, and shouldered the burden of leadership.
Today, authoritarian regimes are once again testing that resolve, undermining sovereignty, spreading instability, and threatening global security. NATO remains the cornerstone of the free world’s collective defense, but its durability still relies on active American engagement.
President Trump’s decisive leadership affirms that America is once again leading from a position of strength. He recognizes that only a confident and resolute United States can rally the free world in defense of liberty. By standing firm, President Trump demonstrates that when America leads with clarity and conviction, freedom prevails.
