Today, 20 years after the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Veterans On Duty thank all who answered their country’s call to service. We honor those servicemembers who didn’t come home. We continue to pray for the families they left behind. And we remember that too many came home forever changed in ways seen and unseen.
Throughout our Nation’s history, a unique group of individuals has stepped up when called upon. Men and women who confront danger rather than run away from it. In an era of cynicism and disillusion, let us not forget these patriots. We are inspired by their choices. We are moved by their devotion. We are grateful for their sacrifices.
