Anniversary of the Abbey Gate Attack

Dear Friends,

Four years ago this week, America lost thirteen brave U.S. service members with many more injured during the devastating attack at Abbey Gate in the final days of the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

We solemnly honor the brave men and women who, in the midst of chaos and danger, placed service above self to ensure the safe evacuation of countless American service members and Afghan allies.Their sacrifice must never be forgotten.

Under the Biden Administration, the chaotic exit was more than a failure of leadership—it was a signal to the world that America’s resolve could be tested. That moment of weakness became a launching point for further catastrophes: Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, the horrific attacks on Israel by Hamas, and China’s growing aggression in the Indo-Pacific. History has proven that time and again, our adversaries advance when America retreats, and it is our duty to ensure such failures are never repeated.

Veterans On Duty remains steadfast in honoring the memory of those we lost at Abbey Gate by working to ensure that the next generation of Americans inherits a nation that is safer, stronger, and guided by principled leadership—so that the profound sacrifices of our fallen heroes will never be in vain.
