Dear Friends,
On Monday, President Trump, alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, announced plans to supply U.S.-made weapons to America’s European defense partners to assist Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression.
Since Vladimir Putin’s brutal invasion in early 2022, thousands of Ukrainians have been killed—not only on the battlefield, but in cities and towns relentlessly targeted by Russian drones and missiles.
President Trump acknowledged the urgency of stopping Putin’s brutal campaign and emphasized the need for military support, stating, “It’s all talk… then missiles go into Kyiv and kill 60 people. It’s got to stop. This is a very big deal we’ve made—billions of dollars’ worth of military equipment is going to be purchased from the United States going to NATO, and that’s going to be quickly distributed to the battlefield.”
Ukraine and our NATO allies remain essential to American security. Should we let Ukraine slide into the abyss of Putin’s despotism, it will only embolden Russia and its authoritarian partners like China and Iran to bolster their cooperation and challenge American interests across the globe.
That’s why Veterans On Duty supports President Trump’s initiative to strengthen our shared defense and hold Vladimir Putin accountable. Whether through arms shipments to Kyiv or sanctions targeting Russia’s war economy, the U.S. must remain resolute in defending democracy and sovereignty under assault in Ukraine.
