Dear Friends,
Earlier this month, during a meeting at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a proposed $1 trillion defense budget. President Trump is right: we must expand the defense budget.
For too long, America has underinvested in the military capabilities necessary to counter the growing threats posed by our adversaries. This year alone, China plans to reportedly increase its defense spending by 7.2%, while Russia now outspends all of Europe combined on its war machine.
The time for decisive action is now. Our Navy needs a revitalized shipbuilding program. Our Air Force needs more reliable, battle-ready airframes. And our Army needs more munitions. Our men and women in uniform serving down range need the best possible weapons, technology, and support to perform their warfighting duties to the highest possible level.
If we are to deter—and if necessary, defeat—our adversaries, these investments are essential.
Expanding and enhancing these capabilities is not just about defense; it’s about preserving the freedoms and security of the United States and our allies around the world. Without bold and sustained investment, our enemies will continue to gain ground. We must not allow that to happen.
