President Trump’s Day 1 Actions to Restore American Strength and Security

Dear Friends,

Shortly after taking the oath of office inside the Capitol Rotunda on Monday, President Trump quickly got to work executing his national security agenda. Through a slew of executive orders, the Trump Administration has already taken great strides to address the degradation of our military, end the culture of appeasement, and secure our nation’s borders.

One of President Trump’s first executive orders put an end to DEI, not only in our military but across our federal government, making sure that the leaders responsible for our warfighters are chosen based on merit and not their woke credentials. This is the first step in a long process towards rebuilding our armed services to make sure that leadership is held accountable and that our military is focused, lethal, and capable of defeating and deterring our adversaries.

More recently, he signed an executive order re-designating the Iranian-backed Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization. For more than a year, the Houthis have terrorized shipping in the Red Sea, attacking our service members, our coalition partners, and launching indiscriminate attacks on our Israeli allies. The Biden Administration’s policy of appeasement clearly only emboldened them, and now we can start the work to end their reign of terror.

We are encouraged by the Trump Administration’s initial steps to protect Americans, restore strength and focus to our military, and rebuild our credibility on the world stage, but we recognize that the work has just begun.

Here at Veterans On Duty, we remain committed to advocating for policies that keep America safe, strong, and free. If you want to join the fight, follow us on X and forward this newsletter to your friends, family, and fellow veterans.
