Dear Friends,
We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic shooting yesterday at Fort Stewart, Georgia, in which five U.S. soldiers were wounded.
Veterans On Duty offers our support to the injured soldiers, their families, and the entire Fort Stewart community. We are keeping them in our prayers and hoping for a full and speedy recovery.
Thanks to the swift and courageous response of military personnel and first responders on base, a greater tragedy was almost certainly averted. We commend their bravery and professionalism in confronting the threat without hesitation.
Veterans On Duty Chairman Jeremy Hunt, a veteran of the 3rd Infantry Division stationed at Fort Stewart, shared the following statement shortly after the attack: “Today and every day, my heart is with the dogface Soldiers of Spartan Brigade and their families. Praying for the best.”
The men and women in uniform who risk their lives for our nation every day deserve nothing less than our full support. From all of us at Veterans On Duty, our hearts and prayers are with the wounded and the thousands of servicemembers who call Fort Stewart home.
Signed,
Veterans On Duty
