STATEMENT ON YESTERDAY’S ISRAELI STRIKE FROM VOD BOARD MEMBER GARRETT EXNER

Garrett Exner, Board Member of Veterans On Duty and former U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Officer, released the following statement in response to Israel’s strike yesterday on senior Hamas leadership:

“For more than 700 days, Hamas’s senior leadership has stalled negotiations and refused to release the American and Israeli hostages held in Gaza. During this time, countless innocent lives have been taken at their direction, even as they prolong the war for cynical political gain from the safety and comfort of foreign capitals.

“The Israeli strike on the highest Hamas leadership was a justified response to a terrorist organization that continues its campaign of brutality, rooted in the atrocities of October 7th. Hamas has been offered a clear path to peace through the release of hostages but has rejected every opportunity. This action was long overdue.

“Veterans On Duty commends the Israeli military for delivering justice to the masterminds behind the slaughter of more than a thousand innocent civilians, including women and children. As long as hostages remain in Gaza and Hamas continues its attacks, its leaders must understand there will be no safe haven from accountability.”
