Dear Friends,
Ahead of President Trump’s State of the Union address, we at Veterans On Duty express our strong support for his ongoing efforts to address inefficiencies that have hindered military readiness for decades. We look forward to seeing how he will seize this important opportunity to address the nation and outline the decisive actions his administration will take to ensure our military remains the most effective, lethal, and focused fighting force in the world.
For too long, waste, fraud, and abuse have plagued the Department of Defense, diverting critical resources from our service members toward partisan political projects that do not serve our national interests. Past leaders allowed these inefficiencies to erode our capabilities, putting our country’s security at risk. These failures left our warfighters struggling with outdated equipment, insufficient training, and inadequate support, while our defense industrial base languished and atrophied.
Under the Trump Administration, wasteful spending and inefficiencies are being exposed and eliminated. This important work has created an opportunity to encourage defense innovation, improve procurement processes, and address the increasingly complex threats to our homeland. By directing these savings toward bolstering our strategic capabilities, we can ensure that our warfighters are properly equipped and prepared to defend our nation, deter any adversary and, if necessary, defeat them on any battlefield.
Our enemies are not waiting for us to get our act together. China, Russia, Iran, and other authoritarian regimes are aggressively expanding their military power, ramping up defense spending, and modernizing their forces. Their intentions are clear: to challenge American leadership, weaken our security, and undermine our way of life. The United States cannot afford to fall behind. We desperately need an effective response that keeps America dominant on land, air, sea, and space.
This requires rebuilding our defense industrial base, expanding shipbuilding to secure naval superiority, and ensuring our military is equipped with sophisticated cutting-edge technology and training to confront emerging threats. Investments in these areas are essential to guaranteeing America’s military remains unmatched in every domain.
Signed,
Jay Kramer
