In response to America’s precision strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, a senior Iranian cleric issued a Fatwa calling for President Trump’s assassination—a religious edict echoed by Iranian state media and outlets aligned with Ayatollah Khamenei.
This is not an isolated threat. Iran has repeatedly plotted to kill U.S. leaders, including a 2023 foiled attempt to assassinate President Trump before the election, and a 2022 plot targeting former CIA Director Mike Pompeo.
If Tehran is willing to take aim at a U.S. president, no American is beyond its reach. This is a sobering reminder: the Iranian regime must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon. When they chant “Death to America,” they mean it.
As the mullahs seek to reignite their enrichment program, we must finish the job and ensure they can never get their hands on a nuclear weapon.
